Review: You could say that I was excited about a Hopeless/Losing Hope novella that was about the hysterically funny, nickname giving, crazy Daniel! Ridiculously excited in fact. I absolutely loved Hopeless and Losing Hope, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Finding Cinderella, even if it was only about 100 pages.

I utterly lived meeting Daniel in Losing Hope. He was extremely charismatic, sarcastic and hilarious, so I was very excited for him to get his own story. In Finding Cinderella, I totally fell in love with Daniel - to the point that he nearly had me reconsidering my declared love for Holder (I didn’t think it was possible for someone to come close to Holder, but he did it).

Finding Cinderella opens with a prologue about Daniel and his encounter with his Cinderella. For those who have read Losing Hope, you will know that Daniel briefly explains his story about Cinderella, but that was nothing like hearing the full story from Daniel’s POV. The full story was so sweet, and you instantly get to see another side to him - and that side is utterly adorable! So, so adorable.

This novella then flicks to the story of Daniel and the quirky and amusing Six. As soon as Daniel meets Six he is instantly attracted to her - and vice versa. Their connection is rather interesting, as it is rather intense, and for these characters it is also out of character. Neither are the “relationship type”, but it clear that these too will end up in one, so they don’t try to fight it. And the relationship that follows is adorable (yes, I know I am saying that a lot) - their banter with each other, the way they are so comfortable with each other, their similar humour, and yes, how quickly they fall for each other.

So many good feels throughout this book - so much adorableness, so much cuteness, and SO much laughter! Daniel continues to provide as many laughs as possible (he will not change for anyone) - and when you aren’t thinking “awwww”, you will be smiling and laughing your way through this story. Daniel and Six both provide lots of laughs, but a special mention also has to be made for Daniels family! His father in particular. There is one scene between Daniel, Six and Daniel’s father (followed by his mother and sister) that had me laughing out loud and I actually felt bad for Daniel in that way that you do when you know someone is embarrassed, but you still laugh at their expense.

I don’t know why, but I thought this novella would be a nice little fluffy read. I thought maybe it might have a little drama when the whole Cinderella thing came out, but WOW! Why did I think that Colleen couldn’t manage to rip your heart out in 100 pages??? Of course it wasn’t going to be all rainbows and cupcakes - it was written by Colleen Hoover! This novella, while it may be short, sure does pack a punch. An utterly amazing, tortuous, funny and sweet novella - Colleen Hoover has won my heart again!

Finding Cinderella can be read as a standalone - but I think you will appreciate it much more if you know the backstory of Six and Daniel (even Holder, Sky and Breckin) before going into this one (and due to the themes and language in this book, I recommend it to more mature readers). But, even so, Finding Cinderella is a wonderfully written, highly entertaining and touching novella and I am so thankful that Colleen wrote it for us!
